The challenge

Training a target audience of more than 5,000 employees dispersed across countries as different as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica — in three languages — made classroom-based training slow and expensive.

It also made it hard to deliver unique, consistent content adapted to one organizational culture.

The solution

The company built its eLearning strategy on courses designed with SHIFT's authoring platform, developing custom online content adapted to its organizational culture. Content was produced in Spanish (66%), Portuguese (30%), and English (4%) to cover the full regional audience from a single production center in Mexico.

Implementation

Courses were designed centrally in Mexico and deployed to operations in 10 countries across the Americas and Europe. The catalog grew to 33 online courses with over 40 hours of online content, at an average adoption pace of 5 courses per employee per year.
