The Monday routine: 30 minutes with your training data

Practical guide

Training data is useless if nobody looks at it. And looking at it shouldn't take all day.

This is a 30-minute routine, every Monday, with your dashboard. Five numbers, one decision, one action.

Do it four Mondays in a row and your training will start improving on its own.

Minutes 0-10 LOOK at the 5 numbers Minutes 10-20 DECIDE one action Minutes 20-30 DO it today

Half an hour. Three steps. Every Monday.

Minutes 0-10: look at the 5 numbers

Don't get lost in the dashboard. Just these five:

1. This week's progress. How many people completed lessons this week? Up or down from last week? This is your overall pulse.
2. Who is at risk. Who started a course and hasn't moved in days? Those people can still be rescued — if you act this week.
3. Where people drop off. Is there a lesson where many people stop? If several get stuck at the same place, the problem is the lesson — not the people.
4. What they search for and don't find. Unanswered searches are requests for help. They're also your list of courses to create next.
5. Activity by team. Which team is on fire, and which one is quiet? Quiet teams almost always have a simple cause: nobody has talked to them about it.

Minutes 10-20: decide ONE action

Here's the secret of the routine: one single action per week. Not five. One.

Pick the one that moves the needle most today:

People at risk? Send a friendly reminder. With an AI assistant, it's one sentence: "kindly remind everyone who hasn't made progress this week."

A lesson where everyone gets stuck? Fix it. Split it in two, add an example, simplify the text. Twenty minutes of editing can unblock dozens of people.

A repeated search with no answer? Create that content. With AI, a short course takes days — and it arrives exactly when the demand exists.

A quiet team? Talk to its leader. Five minutes of conversation beat ten emails.

Everything looks good? Celebrate. A recognition message to the most active team is also an action — and one of the highest-return ones.

Minutes 20-30: do it today

The action gets done the same Monday. Not "this week." Today.

Why? Because actions scheduled for later compete with everything else — and lose. The routine works because it closes the full loop in one sitting: look, decide, do.

Tip: write down each Monday's action in a simple list. In a month you'll have four improvements done. In a quarter, twelve. That list is also your best answer when someone asks what the training team does: showing twelve concrete improvements ends the conversation.

Three mistakes that kill the routine

Looking at everything, deciding nothing. The dashboard has many numbers. You only need five. The discipline of ignoring the rest is what makes half an hour possible.
Saving actions for "when there's time." There's never time. One small action done today beats five big ones planned.
Only doing it when there are problems. The routine also finds what's working — and what works should be repeated and celebrated. Good Mondays count too.

When to escalate

The routine handles the weekly stuff. But two signals deserve a bigger conversation:

Three weeks falling in a row. If overall progress drops three Mondays straight, it's not noise anymore: something changed. Time to review it calmly, with your team.

A pattern repeating across teams. If the same topic fails in sales, in service, and in operations, you found something big: a company-wide need. That deserves a plan, not a patch.

Your Monday needs a good dashboard
