    The 60-Second Guide To Engaging Your Learners

That makes time an obstacle to engaging and connecting with your audience. That's why you have to show learners at every step of the way that you respect and value their precious time.

    Besides the time factor, we all want to make learners excited, right? That is why many people are looking for advice and tips on how to engage students in eLearning environments. 

    Keep reading to know how to do it effectively – in just 60-seconds, you will be able to engage your learners like never before.

    1. A very simple way to start: use images to engage your learners. Many studies reveal that people engage with content when they have a picture to look at or a video to watch. It's a good idea to use different typesdepending on the kind of information you have.

    2Snackable content is the key to engagement. Whether it's listening to an podcast, a short video, observing an infographic people like small bits of information. Apply this idea to eLearning and you'll see how learners will love it.

    3.  Get the learner to "pull" informationSwitch from courses that push content out to courses that have the learners pull content. This way, learners are not forced to go over content that they already know. 

    4. Stimulate curiosity. When people are curious they are willing to know more about a topic. So, through the entire course (but especially at the beginning) you should try to generate curiosity.

    5. Vary your format Including different types of content stops learners from getting bored and tired. Fun elements like case studies, games, video, scenarios and simulations create a more engaging learning experience.

    6. eLearning courses need to be created with focus on the learner: Does the learner think your content is important? Do they relate their carreer and personal goals with the learning objectives of the course? Carefully analyze the profile of your audience: interests, skills, prior knowledge, how they learn, among others. 

    7. Provide real-life examples. Examples are a great teacher!  They help you connect with the learner by shortening the gap between theory and application. Moreover, have participants involved in real-life cases where they can deal and solve real-life decisions. 

    8. Help motivate students to learn by answering the question What’s in it for me?”

    9. You can't learn for your learners. It’s as important to inspire and energize learners as it is to present content to them, because without motivation no learning can occur. 

    10. Another way to engage learners is through well-developed and meaningful interactivity. Interactivity asks learners to get involved with the content by doing things. 

    11. One of the many skills that eLearning designers need is the ability to write clear and engaging content. Try using these tips to spice up your writing. 

    12. Be entertaining. eLearning doesn't always have to be so serious. Use humor, or find relatable analogies that captivate.
